A key pathway to mitigating carbon emissions
Vitol has invested in the future of LNG bunkering vessels by commissioning 3 newbuild LNG bunkering barges in Q4’24 for delivery from Q4’26. LNG enables shipowners to reduce their environmental footprint at competitive price levels. When combined with bio-LNG blending, it also offers shipowners a long-term solution for compliance with increasingly stringent emission regulations. Learn more
Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to sustainable fuel solutions
The Marine Future, was Vitol Bunkers’ first specialised bunker barge to operate in Singapore. This addition to the V-Bunkers fleet has enabled us to supply biofuel blends to meet our customer specifications.
Certified biofuels are expected to play a key role in helping the hard-to-abate maritime sector to decarbonise and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on a well-to-wake basis and can actively reduce a vessel’s Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII), and count as a zero CO2 emissions factor once shipping joins the EU’s Emissions Trading System [ETS] in 2024.
